In West Kazakhstan regional court discussed the main novellas of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In West Kazakhstan regional court held a workshop on the theme: "The main novellas of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

The event was attended by the judges of the regional, city and equivalent courts, as well as employees of prosecutors, internal affairs bodies, and the criminal-executive system.

The Chairman of the Board on Criminal Cases of regional court M.Nagashybaev, noted the importance of the topic, given that the criminal legislation will begin work on 1 January of 2015. The new Criminal Code includes 467 articles.

Judge of Uralsk city court G.Gimadutdinova in her report noted that "The Criminal Code includes a new institution - the criminal offenses there are only 156. Among them there are 47 former administrative offenses, 100 for small gravity offenses that do not involve, as a punishment of imprisonment, and also 9 new acts have not provided any Criminal Code or the Code of Administrative Offences. Committing offenses would not entail conviction. "

One of the innovations in the Criminal Code are medical and computer crimes, highlighted in a separate chapter of the Special Part.

It has strengthened responsibility for terrorist and extremist crimes.

Compared with the current Criminal Code revised penal system with an emphasis on greater use of alternatives to imprisonment.

Also made ​​a presentation the judge of Uralsk city court U.Muhangalieva, who addressed the issue of the powers of the investigating judge, set out in the new Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the workshop, spoke representatives of the prosecution, internal affairs, the bar association, the Tax Department and the Department of the criminal-executive system in the region.

At the end of the meeting, there were exchanged views on the application of the new criminal legislation of the country.
