Court of Astana held training workshop for judge conciliators

The Astana City Court held a workshop for judge conciliators themed "Mediation Techniques for civil cases".

The Deputy Head of the Department for the Provision of Courts’ Activity under the Supreme Court Assiya Kassenova, member of the Supreme Judicial Council, national expert in the field of mediation Balgul Raisova, professional mediator of the Mediation Development Center Zhanna Inkarbekova, as well as Judges of Astana attended the event.

The workshop participants discussed the judge conciliator’s mediation competences in the settlement of disputes and conflicts, as well as the methodology for applying mediation in labor disputes.

The moderator of the workshop was the judge of the Astana city court Gulzhanat Rakhmetova. During the workshop, she reported on the implementation of the project "Conciliation Procedures in Court" in the Saryarka District Court of the capital since April 19, 2018. During this period, the project proved to be effective: 50% of the cases which were attended by both sides were completed with conciliation procedures by a judge conciliator.
