Today, in the Supreme Court discussed issues on countering corruption and observance ethic norms in the judiciary corps

Today, in the Supreme Court held a "round table" on "Topical issues on countering corruption and observance ethic norms in the judiciary corps."

The event is initiated, by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the United Nations Office on drugs and criminality, the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and the OSCE Centre in Astana.

In the work of the "round table" took part the acting chairman of the judicial oversight board on criminal cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Kurkbaev, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, a member of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe E.Nikolae, judges of the Supreme Court, international experts on countering corruption and representatives of NCE.

Participants of the event discussed the issues of judicial independence, the implementation of Istanbul Anti corruption action plan, observance ethic norms in the judiciary corps and the activities of the Judicial jury.

In his welcoming speech the moderator of the "round table" A.Kurkbaev noted that without ensuring the highest ethic norms was not possible to achieve high estimation of the population of the courts. That is why the issues of countering corruption and observance judicial ethic relevant.

Separate block of the "round table" was devoted to the discussion of the new Code of Judicial Ethics. Presenting as an important document for the judiciary corps Supreme Court judge K.Shauharov stressed the need to adopt the Code in light of the President's Message to the people of Kazakhstan.

On results of the round table held a constructive exchange of views and were developed recommendations on the fight against corruption and observance ethic norms in the judiciary corps.
