On 4 September will be hold the IX Meeting of Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of SCO Member States

On 4 September of 2014 at 9 a.m. at the Palace of Independence in Astana city will be hold on the ninth Meeting of Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The event will be attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.A.Mami, the Chairman of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China, Zhou Qiang, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation V.M.Lebedev, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyz Republic F.Z.Dzhamasheva, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tajikistan N.Abdullozoda, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.A.Gaziev, Secretary-General of SCO D.F.Mezentsev, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of SCO Regional Antiterrorist Structure T.D.Musabaev.

The meeting will discuss the issues of improvement and evaluation activities of the courts, the selection and appointment of judges, the openness of justice, the use of information and communication technologies in the proceedings, as well as a number of practical questions in the administration of justice. Within a separate workshop will consider the role of judges of the supreme courts in the fight against terrorism.

On the results of the meeting, is expected to sign the Joint Statement by the Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of SCO Member States to strengthen cooperation and partnership for the joint promotion of the rule of law and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
