The participants of the "round table" held in the Aktobe regional court discussed topical issues of the parole institution.

The judges of the region, representatives of the prosecutor's office, the criminal-executive system, internal affairs of the region, and also via videoconferencing - judges of district courts took part in the discussion.

The chairman of the regional court, Muratali Aketay, during the roundtable noted that the institutions of parole and punishment, and the replacement of the unserved part of the sentence with a milder form of punishment, are among the most effective incentives for correcting and forming law-abiding behavior among persons serving sentences. "Defining the priorities for the further development of the state, the issue of humanization of criminal legislation aimed at reducing the" prison population "is, today, important and relevant," he said.

In the opinion of the speakers, it is important to ensure the proper prosecutor's supervision over the quality of materials sent to the court at the request of convicted persons, the position of the prosecutor on the application requested by the convicted person. There are certain problems associated with the provision of characteristics and conclusions by psychologists of correctional facilities.

Speakers gave examples from judicial practice, where correctional institutions made violations of the law when drafting and sending materials on convicts, these violations remained outside the supervision of the prosecutor's office. In this connection, it was noted about the need to improve the quality of the compilation of materials characterizing the identity of convicts and reflecting their behavior during their stay in places of deprivation of liberty, strict compliance with the law requirements for the form and content of documents.

As a result of the round table, there was a constructive dialogue on the formation of judicial practice and the development of joint recommendations to ensure compliance with the requirements of the law by the penitentiary and prosecutorial authorities in order to further eliminate violations.
