Working visit of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan Department to the South Korea has begun

From 27 to June 30, 2016 held a study visit of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan Apparatus employees to South Korea. The delegation is headed by the Head of Department on support of courts activities under the Supreme Court Ilyas Ispanov. The delegation included of the Rector of the Justice Academy under the Supreme Court M.Beybutov, heads of structural departments and senior officials of the Department.

The visit takes place at the World Bank assistance. Within the framework of the visit the delegation will get acquainted with the South Korea experience on implementation in the legal proceedings of advanced information technologies, to study the courts infrastructure, the organization of court administration features, education, as well as the South Korean experience of access to judicial information.

Within the framework of the visit is scheduled the meetings with the responsible courts experts in South Korea, a visit to the Information Technologies Center and the Office of the administrative regulation of the Supreme Court of South Korea.

June 27 of the current year on the first day of the visit there was a meeting with the head of administrative management of the Supreme Court of Korea Mr. V.Kvon. Within the framework of it Korean colleagues were informed about the judicial system and legal proceedings in Kazakhstan, as well as the judiciary reforms in relation to Plan of Nation "100 concrete steps." I.Ispanov also elaborated on the work ongoing on improve the information and the technical equipment of courts and the implementation of e-justice. Kazakhstan's experience aroused great interest, there was an active exchange of comments on matters of e-justice and the organization of the courts work between the parties.

On the same day there was a meeting with the president of the Institute of training members of the judiciary, Mr. Kim Min Hee. The Institute is founded in 1962 as the Centre for the preparation of court employees. In 1979, the Centre received the status of the Institute under the Supreme Court of South Korea. Institution educates the courts employees, the Constitutional Court, the Ministry of Defence and Legal Aid Corporation, and officers of the court. During the meeting they discussed the draft memorandum of cooperation between the Justice Academy under the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Advanced Training of the judiciary under the Supreme Court of South Korea.

At the meetings, Kazakh and Korean experts in judicial administrating noted the need to further enhance communication between the higher judicial authorities of Kazakhstan and South Korea for possible implementation of joint projects.

It should be noted that from 24 to 26 June 2016 the Republic of Korea delegation headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court Yang Seung-te visited the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan in the framework of exchange of experience between the highest judicial authorities of the two countries.
