Kazakhstan delegation of judges is on a working visit to the United States of America

In order to study the norms of international law in the field of investment and investment litigation, from March 10 to 18 Kazakhstan delegation of judges is on a business trip to the United States of America.

The delegation includes Aigul Kydyrbaeva, chaiman of the Specialized Judicial division of the Supreme Court, Aygul Saparova, judges of the Supreme Court Aigul Saparova, Denis Shipp and Madiyar Balken, chairman of the Judicial division for Civil Cases of the Karaganda Regional Court Zhanna Seidalina, a judge of Astana court Ayman Maykibaeva, chairman of the SIEC of the Atyrau region Rustem Zhansykbaev and Kayrat Elibaev, deputy head of the Department on support of courts activities.

Within the framework of the visit there was a visit of the Supreme Court of America, the Federal Court, the Office of the Legal Adviser on International Claims and Investment Disputes at the US Department of State. Meetings were also held with arbitrators of the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes, representatives of the US Patent and Trademark Office, the US International Trade Commission, and the American Association of Lawyers, the Rule of Law Initiative.

In the course of the meetings they discussed issues related to the resolution of investment disputes, the specifics and specific features of US investment litigation, the practice of consideration cases at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes, familiarization with the current methods and mechanisms for resolving investment disputes in US courts (negotiations, mediation, arbitration) etc.

The results of the study tour will contribute to the further development and improvement of judicial activities and law enforcement practice of national courts in the field of investment litigation, taking into account the norms of international legal regulation.
