At the Kostanay Regional Court they discussed the matters of contempt of court

The Kostanay Regional Court conducted training for judges on: "Manifestation of contempt of court" via videoconferencing.

The relevance of the topic is caused by the need to strengthen the image of the judiciary, its reforming, the bringing up respect for the court and state institutions in general.

Speaking, the judge of the regional court Galina Zinina stressed that the responsibility for manifesting contempt of court is imposed for failure to appear in court without valid reasons of the participants in the process and other persons on the agenda, notice, notification or summons in cases. In such cases, further consideration of the case in the absence of the parties is not possible for the court. In addition, disrespect for the court is expressed in disobeying the orders of the presiding judge in the court session, violation of the established rules in the court, as well as other (inactions), which indicates contempt of court or judge in accordance with the Code of Administrative Violations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In the course of the discussion, the judges gave examples from the court practice, when cases of contempt of court were allowed. So, according to the information of the judges, in 2016 the courts of the region considered 37 such cases, since the beginning of 2017 only 2 have been considered.
