Announced the verdict against former investigator of the Office of Internal Affairs of Aktau city

Today, in the exit meeting in the building of the Office of Internal Affairs of Aktau city, in the presence of personnel staff the police department announced the verdict against former investigator of the Investigation Department of the Internal Affairs of Aktau city W., who was committed under Article 311, paragraph 4, part "A" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (acceptance of a bribe by extortion).

The court found that the defendant W., being an investigator OIA of Aktau city, in the period from May to July 2014, by extortion, received from citizen K., a suspect in in-production criminal investigation into the theft of a motor vehicle spare parts, a bribe in the form of cash in the amount of 50 000 tenge, brand new cell phone "iPhone 5S" and aeroplane ticket itinerary "Aktau-Shymkent" acquired K. on request of the defendant.

In the main trial the defendant W. argued that did this to K., fraud by false pretenses and abuse of his trust receiving from him the above money and items.

By court verdict W. to the preferred charges he was found guilty and sentenced to seven (7) years' imprisonment, with deprivation of the right to hold positions in the public service for a period of four (4) years imprisonment in penitentiary settlement of a general regime. Since the defendant in favor of the state recovered procedural costs incurred in connection with the production of legal expertise.

The verdict of the court has not entered into force.
