On the advantages of mediation application in the settlement of disputes they mentioned in the Kamystinsk district akimat of the Kostanai region

In the Kamystinsk district akimat of the Kostanai region there was a "round table" with participation of district court judges, representatives of akimat, professional and non-professional mediators.

The meeting participants discussed the provisions of the Law "On Mediation", the provisions of the Civil Procedure and the Criminal Procedure Code relating to the application of conciliation procedures.

Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of the Kamystinsk District Court Nurlan Zhanakaev spoke about the ongoing work by the Supreme Court within the framework of the implementation of outlined activities to modernize the judicial system by the Head of State in Plan of Nation.

Professional mediator T.Syzdykov noted advantage of mediation application when the settlement of disputes and conflicts, as well as the positive trend in the opening of the non-professional mediators’ offices under akimat of regional value, rural districts. According to the register of non-professional mediators to date in the Kamystinsk District in six rural districts nine non-professional mediators work on a voluntary basis, aimed to help citizens in the settlement of disputes. On the same day the roundtable participants took part in the opening of mediation offices under Kamystinsk district akimats and Sverdlovsk rural district. At the present time there are three mediation offices in the district.

Participating in the activity akims of rural districts and villages stressed that they will contribute to the development of conciliation procedures, as well as opening mediation offices under the akimats of rural districts.

Summing up, the Deputy akim of the Kamystinsk district G.Ahmetchin noted the similarity of mediation institution with the biy court institution, biys authority in the resolution of conflict situations.

At present, there are 23 mediation offices under the Kostanay region and further work on the opening of which is ongoing.
