Member of the Supreme Judicial Council V.Rychkov: "Measures taken to improve the requirements for candidates for judges will ensure quality implementation of the citizens’ rights to judicial protection"

In the Military Court there was a plenary meeting to discuss the candidates admitted to participate in the competition for vacant positions of chairmen and judges of regional, district and equivalent courts.

The member of the Supreme Judicial Council Vladimir Rychkov took part in the plenary session.

Speaking at the plenary session, the chairman of the court Saken Abdullayev noted the main criteria for selection of candidates for the vacant positions of judges the high level of knowledge, the moral quality and excellent reputation.

V.Rychkov in his speech stressed that all measures taken within the framework of the Plan of Nation to increase the requirements to the candidates for judges and tightening mechanisms for their selection are aimed at the formation of the judiciary corps from the most worthy candidates, which will provide high-quality implementation of the constitutionally guaranteed right to judicial protection.

The Plenary session participants discussed the results of the consideration by the Council for cooperation with the courts on 3 candidates participating in the competition for the vacant position of a judge. In reviewing the candidates, special attention was paid to their moral qualities and professional appearance. Based on the discussion two candidates got positive conclusion of the plenary session.
