Today, the Chairman of the Supreme Court Kairat Mami met with head of the OSCE Office programs in Astana, Mr. György Szabó.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Supreme Court noted the current level of relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and its institutions. "We have implemented a number of joint projects in the field of corruption prevention, combating human trafficking, access to justice in environmental matters, and the implementation of the Aarhus Convention, strengthening the independence of the judiciary. These areas of cooperation continue to be valid for us ", - K. Mami said.

In the course of the meeting, it was also noted that at present time there is a significant and long-lasting experience of cooperation on matters of improving the openness of courts. This year, with the support of the OSCE Office in Astana programs, there were training seminars for judges-coordinators work with the media, as well as a study tour to the Russian Federation, in order to study the experience of the interaction of the courts with the media.

From the Kazakh side expressed interest in expanding cooperation with the OSCE on the basis of the Academy of Justice, including the training of judges for crimes related to human trafficking, as well as holding guest lectures, study tours and meetings at the highest courts of foreign countries. In addition, an agreement was reached to consider foreign experts the draft Administrative Procedure Code, developed by the Supreme Court.

At the end of the meeting the sides stressed the importance of this visit for expansion of joint work and exchange of experience.
