Chairman of the Supreme Court met with the owners of the "Bolashak" International Scholarship from the judicial system

Today the Chairman the Supreme Court Kairat Mami met with the judges and the judiciary employees - international "Bolashak" scholarship owners in 2016. Also the Managing Director of "Astana"  International Finance center (AIFC) Sayat Nurbek and senior officials of the Apparatus of the Supreme Court took part in the meeting.

Opening the meeting, Kairat Mami congratulated the scholarship owners and noted that the Republican Commission for training abroad in the list of priority specialties for the passage of foreign internships being awarded the international "Bolashak" scholarship included the category "judges and the judiciary employees." Supreme Court jointly with «Astana» International financial center (AIFC) carried out extensive work on the organization of the internship to satisfy needs of the judicial system.

At the meeting, coordinator of the internship organization, a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.Balken made information.

The main objective of the internship program is to study the foundations of the Anglo-Saxon system of general and commercial law for further implementation in Kazakhstan practice of legal proceedings. The training program has been developed based on the experience of the courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC Courts). Within the framework of the internship scholarship owners will study English clerical work, the principles of the English judges work, questions the rule of law, judicial lawmaking and judicial precedents, particularly the various branches of commercial law (contract, banking, finance), English civil litigation, international arbitration law. Also it is planned for the scholarship owners passing a long practice in the courts, leading law and UK law firms.

Partner in organizing overseas internships acted The Law Society of England and Wales (The Law Society of England and Wales), in collaboration with its many members - representatives of the British legal community and the two leading universities in the UK.

Managing Director of "Astana" International Financial Centre Sayat Nurbek, in his speech pointed out the uniqueness and relevance of the internship program for the acquisition of Kazakh judges and new knowledge in the field of Anglo-Saxon law, as well as "social capital" in the form of contacts with representatives of the British legal community. This is especially true in the specific context of English law, which is the source of law is judicial precedent.

In the course of the meeting the scholarship owners Program exchanged views, in which they noted the relevance and novelty of the internship, shared their expectations.

K. Mami stressed that the scholarship owners in 2016 are the first to be held overseas training through the judicial system. All of them have passed a serious selection on knowledge of languages and laws. "Your task - to take full responsibility for the implementation of the internship program requirements, to get the maximum of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. This will be the basis and luggage to enhance your skills and further career advancement ", - the Chairman of the Supreme Court noted.

It was emphasized that the scholarship owners included representatives of all parts of the judicial system from the Supreme Court to the district level courts, as well as employees of the Department on support of courts activity and court administrators.

K. Mami stressed the importance of training in the context of the establishment in the capital of Kazakhstan an independent court of «Astana» International Financial Center (AIFC) and international arbitration, with an emphasis on the experience of similar institutions in Dubai. "When the court was established under the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), only foreigners worked as judges in it. Today, there are already working three judges UAE citizen. In Kazakhstan, we have to go this way faster. In the future, you can work in a court or in the administration of the court at AIFC. That is, this internship is the practical implementation of the Plan of Nation initiated by the Head of State. You should keep this in mind and responsible approach to your mission ", - the Chairman of the Supreme Court noted.

K. Mami expressed confidence that each of the "Bolashak" owners will justify the rendered high trust and for the return to Kazakhstan will use the knowledge acquired. He wished fruitful work scholarship owners and successful completion of the internship.
