In Aktau City Court announced the sentence against former accountants of University named Sh.Esenova

Today in Aktau City Court  was announced the sentence in the criminal case against the former chief accountant and three accountants of Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering named Sh.Yessenov.

The accused were charged under Article 176 Part 4 "b" (embezzlement of entrusted property on a large scale), and 193, part 3 "in" (legalization of property), 325 Part 2 (forgery) 218 of the Criminal Code (violation of the legislation of Kazakhstan on accounting and financial reporting).

The defendants, working in the period from July 2012 to January 2014, by falsifying of bank extracts and checkbooks committed embezzlement of funds in the amount of 660 million tenge.

Hearings in the criminal case were open with the participation of the media.

By court sentence Z.Karataeva chief accountant was sentenced to the deprivation of liberty for a period of up to 8 years - in penitentiary settlements of a general regime with confiscation of property. Convicted also is deprivation of the right to engage in financial and accounting activity for three years.

Defendant Tlepova K. was sentenced to the deprivation of liberty for a period of up to 7 years - in penitentiary settlements of a general regime with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to engage in financial  activity for three years.

Defendants B.Suleymenova and M.Yusupova were convicted on the same articles. They were sentenced to the deprivation of liberty for a period of up to 5 years  with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to engage in accounting activity for three years.

Convicts were taken into custody in the courtroom after the sentence. Previously, they were released on bail with a written undertaking not to leave a place.

Sentence has not entered into force and may be challenged or appealed by the parties within 15 days of the appellate judicial board Mangistau regional court.
