The West-Kazakhstan region discussed the transition of the state language into the Latin script

The chairman of the West Kazakhstan regional court Bek Ametov held a seminar-meeting to discuss the project of transition of the Kazakh alphabet into the Latin script. The judges, the prominent scientists and philologists, the representatives of the national and cultural centers of the branch of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the state bodies and the media took part in it.

"The program of modernization of public consciousness, proposed by the Head of State, involves a large-scale implementation of projects, one of which is the transition of the Kazakh language into the Latin script. Considering the responsibility of the forthcoming common cause, we invited you to take an active part in the discussion and express your opinion on the way to the transition to the Latin alphabet," B. Ametov said.

Speaking, the chairman of the judicial board on civil cases of the regional court Kairat Adranov focused the attention on the relevance of the discussion of this topic. At the same time, he noted that the transition to the Latin alphabet is due to global processes and will therefore become a new evolutionary stage for the Kazakh people.

A professor of the M. Utemissov West Kazakhstan State University, doctor of pedagogical sciences, the academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the RK Abat Kydyrshayev, speaking at the seminar noted that the transition to the Latin script is a scientifically grounded and expected event. He called the most important conceptual aspects of the process of transition to the Latin script and introduced specific proposals for a new alphabet.

The professor, Doctor of Philology Sabyr Murat noted the timeliness of the reform of the Kazakh alphabet and expressed support for the principle "one sound - one letter" in further work on improving the alphabet.

The participants of the meeting got acquainted with the reports of the experts and after the discussion they expressed confidence in the progressive implementation of the unified standard of the Latin alphabet to enhance the global competitiveness of the nation and assured that they would do their best to successfully implement this strategic project.
