The Supreme Court E.Abdykadyrov's meeting with representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR

Today in the Supreme Court, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board on Civil and administrative cases e. Abdykadyrova with representatives of Mission of the OSCE Office for democratic institutions and human rights (ODIHR) Richard Lappinym and Radivoâ Grujic.

The meeting purpose - discussion of the procedures and a role of the Supreme Court, local courts in consideration of the applications connected with electoral rights of the citizens and public associations participating in elections.

During conversation E. Abdykadyrov emphasized that "in Kazakhstan all conditions for full and free realization of the political rights of citizens are created, effective functioning of the mechanism of protection of electoral rights is provided. During the electoral period the role of courts increases. It is connected with the importance of the judgments passed on the affairs connected with application of the elective legislation".

Besides, it was noted that according to article 273 GPK RK the court considers the applications which came to the period of preparation and elections and also within a month from the date of vote – in five-day time, and in the voting day and to the announcement of results of elections – immediately.

Representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR noted that the main task of their Mission is the impartial monitoring electoral process and results in the format of the final report.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their interest in developing cooperation in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms.
