Today upon the initiative of the management personnel of the regional court in Aktobe regional court a round table was arranged on «Mediation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. International experience». A US expert on mediation Julia Bronson, lawyer of the program on the judicial system of Kazakhstan of the Representation of the American Association of Lawyers A.Yu.Sokolova, chairman of the regional court Ye.Zh.Aitzhanov, judicial establishment of the region, mediators, representatives of the prosecutor’s office, law enforcement agencies and other state authorities of the region, mass media, advocates and psychologists took part in it.
Participants of the round table exchanged opinions on introduction of the mediation institute in courts of the region, discussed prospects of further development of mediation in Kazakhstan taking into account the experience of the USA. In the course of the discussion the attention was focused on pressing issues, which hamper extensive use of the mediation procedure on judicial cases, required measures for activation of propaganda and application of this institute.
The US expert on mediation Julia Bronson, having made a speech with a report «Pressing issues arising during solution of cases associated with the mediation», gave respective recommendations for a high-quality development of mediation in Kazakhstan.
Completing the work of the round table the chairman of the regional court Ye.Zh. Aitzhanov marked a special topicality of the issue, and today the society needs the mediation, as it has positive results, such as reduction of a number of convicted, decrease of conflicts in the society, ensuring a serious pedagogic effect on an accused, and decrease of a load on courts and etc.
By results of the round table participants worked out recommendations on further development of mediation in the region.
