In Taraz, there is training on judicial mentoring

In Zhambyl region, there is two-day training for mentors and proteges, organized by the Supreme Court in cooperation with the European Union project "Improving the Criminal Justice System in Kazakhstan". The project is implemented by the international organization NI-CO.

Judge of the Supreme Court Gaziz Musabekov, chairman of the division for criminal cases of the Zhambyl regional court Nurmakhamat Abidov, judges of the courts of Almaty, Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda and South-Kazakhstan regions participating in the judicial mentoring program took part in the training. International experts Jan Carsten, David Slateolm and Glean Sixsmith Hookings act as coaches.

Opening the event, the chairman of the Zhambyl regional court Rustem Alchinbaev noted the relevance of the chosen topic, since the purpose of judicial mentoring is to acquire judicial skills, to achieve high moral and ethical standards in professional activity for the first time appointed judges.

Judge of the Supreme Court Gaziza Musabekova stressed that the participation of judges in the mentoring program contributes to the adaptation of newly appointed judges in the new conditions of work, the development of ethical standards of behavior and the provision of psychological support in the process of judicial work. The purpose of the training is to develop communication skills in the process of mentor-protégé relations, as well as in the relations of judges, who are currently protégés, with their colleagues, with persons involved in the processes. Within the framework of the course developed by the experts, the participants of the training will study the main stages of the mentoring process and the tasks of each stage, develop skills in using various development tools for the protégé.

Training takes place in an interactive form in constant contact between trainers and participants of the training, discussions with analysis of proposed situations from practice.
