In the North Kazakhstan regional court considered candidates for judges

In the North Kazakhstan regional court, together with Public Council, plenary session on discussion of the candidates applying for vacancies of judges took place.

For the first time the meeting took place in a new format, taking into account the changes brought in the Constitutional law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "About judicial system and the status of judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan". In this law the status of Public Council is defined, as advisory body which estimates moral qualities of candidates for positions of judges.

Judges in honorable resignation, ex-deputies of Mazhilis of Parliament, the representative of “Nur Otan” party and mass media are a part of Council.

The judge in resignation Dmitriyeva Tamara Mikhaelovna is elected the chairman of the board by universal suffrage.

Plenary session considered the declared candidacies – 11 effective judges and 4 candidates for the judge's position.

The main selection criteria of candidates for vacancies of judges are the high standard of knowledge, moral qualities and faultless reputation.

The special attention was paid to business and personal qualities of candidates, circumstances which could soil authority and dignity of the judge or to raise doubts in his honest, conscientious, fair and impartial administration of justice.

Previously on candidates inquiries were sent to management of administrative police of DIA of NKR, justice, management of Committee on legal statistics and special accounts.

Following the results of joint plenary session the decision to recommend nine candidates for participation in competition for vacancies of judges was made. Thus to one of candidates were made recommendations in courts of law and the court considering criminal cases, but is refused the recommendation in economic courts.

To six candidates it was refused making recommendations.
