Kairat Mami met with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of India Mukul Rohatgi

Today in Astana city, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami met with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of India Mukul Rohatgi.

Chairman of the Supreme Court noted the importance of this meeting in establishment of fruitful relations between the legal spheres of the two countries, having stressed the fact that the Kazakhstan-Indian relations develop in the traditional atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust.

K. Mami informed the foreign guest about judicial reforms, initiated by the President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev within the framework of Plan of Nation "100 concrete steps - the modern state for everyone." Particular attention was paid to the transition to three-tier court system, creation specialized board on investment matters at the Supreme Court and creation an advisory International council. There have been disclosed approaches on AIFC International Arbitration Centre in Astana city, the expansion of the powers of the investigative judge and the scope of the jury. During the meeting, Kairat Mami details revealed features of the judicial system of Kazakhstan, and also spoke about the measures taken for the implementation in the courts of the new information technologies.

Within the framework of the meeting there was detailed exchange of opinions on cooperation in matters of legal assistance in court cases.

After the meeting the interlocutors spoke in favor of further expansion of cooperation on the courts activities of the two countries.
