The American Ambassador noted Kazakhstan's aspiration to a humane approach in criminal law

Today, within the framework of the International Workshop on the Application of Standards of the new criminal and criminal procedural legislation held a meeting the Chairman of the supervisory board of the Supreme Judicial Court of Kazakhstan Akyltay Kasimov with Chargé d'Affaires of the USA in Kazakhstan, Ambassador John Ordway.

J.Ordway thanked the organizers for the opportunity to attend the event, which marks the beginning of a new phase of the criminal law and criminal procedural legislation in Kazakhstan. He noted that the worldwide criminal legislation was of great importance in the protection of human rights and freedoms. Also he noted the intention of Kazakhstan to the humane approach in criminal law.

"It is important that Kazakhstan takes international experience and has absorbed what works in practice is best for many years. International cooperation and exchange of experience is an additional perspective to improve justice "- said John Ordway.

In turn A.Kasimov, thanking the American delegation for the visit, said that Kazakhstan, as a rapidly developing country in Asia, updates the criminal and criminal procedure legislation.

Also the Chairman of the supervisory judicial board of the Supreme Court said that, to date, the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan was developing civil procedural legislation. "Economic development without concurrent development of the law is impossible. Active development of economy and investment, both domestic and foreign, in Kazakhstan it is a positive development. All this thanks to the opening-up policy of the President of our country "- noted A.Kasimov.
